I love to cook, and I like to cook most of our meals from scratch. I mean we do try to keep it quite healthy at our gaff but we do enjoy a the naughtier meals, so we sneak a few of them in as well.
This evening I made pasta with a beautiful Bolognese, so I thought I would put up the recipe as the first in a series of my faves.
You will need:
- 250g lean minced beef
- 1 large carrot
- 1 stick of celery
- 1 white onion
- A handful of mushrooms (personal taste)
- 400g tin of tomatoes
- 1 glass of red wine
- 1/2 tsp oregano
Add carrot, celery and onion into a large pan with a little oil ( I used rapeseed) and cook for around 5 minutes.
Add in the mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes.
Add in the minced beef and cook until the meat is well browned,
Then it’s wine time, pour in and cook for a few minutes, until the wine has reduced a little.
add in the oregano and mix well, then our over the tomatoes and allow to simmer for an hour – the time is not essential but the longer you leave it the better it tastes – you may need to top it up with a little water if it thickens too much.
And here she is, in all of her delicious glory, decorated with some shaved parmigiano-reggiano ( umm yeah that’s just Parmesan and I deffo prefer it finely grated).
Hope you liked the post and definitely recommend that you give this one a go, it’s pretty fab..
